I'm not a scientist, academic or television presenter.
I'm someone who's spent much of his life around the countryside and has become increasingly fascinated by the people working behind the scenes to protect, manage and understand it.

Through my work with Restore Habitat UK, I've had the opportunity to meet some incredible people doing incredible things for nature.
​
But I've also realised something.
​
Most people never get to hear their stories.
That's where Fields, Forests & a Fun Guy started.
​
I want to sit down with the people who actually know these subjects, ask the questions I'd want answered myself and hopefully learn something along the way.

And if you're wondering about the name...
No. I'm not actually a mushroom.
OUT OF THE STUDIO. INTO THE WILD.
The conversation doesn't always stop when the microphones turn off.
We'll be getting out into the fields, forests, farms, rivers and wild places our guests talk about, seeing their work first-hand and following some of their projects as they develop.
Because sometimes the best way to understand conservation is to get your boots muddy.
